Privacy Policy for Wedding App

This Privacy Policy describes how Wedding App ("the App," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is a wedding planning tool that lets two partners share a guest list, budget, checklist, and seating chart.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in, we collect the minimum information needed to create your account:

• Sign in with Apple: your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email, if you choose to hide your email), as provided by Apple.
• Email/password sign-in: the email address and password you provide. Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us in plain text.

Wedding planning data

To provide the App's features, we store the information you and your partner enter, including:

• Partner names, wedding date, venue name and address, ceremony/reception times, and total budget
• Guest list entries: guest names, RSVP status, meal choice, plus-one counts, group (e.g. family/friends), notes, and table assignments
• Checklist items: titles, due dates, completion status, and notes
• Budget items: titles, categories, estimated/actual costs, and payment status
• Seating tables: names and capacity
• An activity log recording which partner made a given change (e.g. "added a guest"), so you can both see recent updates

This data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and is shared only between the two partners linked to the same wedding — access is enforced by server-side security rules, so no other user can read or write it.

Device security information

We use Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our backend come from a genuine, untampered copy of the App running on a real device. On iOS this uses Apple's App Attest service, which shares device integrity attestations with Google — it does not identify you personally.

Biometric data

If you enable the optional Face ID / Touch ID app lock, authentication is handled entirely on-device by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. We never receive, transmit, or store your biometric data — only a simple on/off preference is saved locally on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Create and secure your account
• Sync wedding planning data between you and your partner in real time
• Let you access your data across your own devices
• Detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access (App Check)

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not run analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that track your behavior.

3. How We Share Your Information

• Your partner: wedding planning data is shared with the one other person who joins your wedding using your invite code.
• Service providers: we use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Check) to operate the App. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
• Apple: if you use Sign in with Apple, Apple processes your authentication per its privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Account Settings → Delete Account), which permanently erases your wedding planning data and deletes your authentication record. This action cannot be undone.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can do most of this yourself in the App; for anything else, contact us using the details below.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted network connections (TLS), server-side access rules that restrict data to the two members of a wedding, and Firebase App Check to block unauthorized clients. An optional on-device biometric lock adds an extra layer of protection if your device is left unlocked.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
